The New Yorker Documentary
The New Yorker Documentary series is a home for innovative short-form cinema that tells true stories with big impact. These selected shorts première across all of The New Yorker’s digital platforms. We are looking for diverse voices, and emerging and established filmmakers are welcome to submit. If you have a fascinating, character-driven documentary short that offers an uncommon perspective on issues that matter to us now, we want to hear from you. Although we don’t have a strict length limit or requirement, films over forty minutes are typically considered outside the scope of short-form. Generally, films that are already publicly available online are not strong candidates for submission. We appreciate your patience, as response times will vary, and, owing to the volume of submissions, we regret that we may not be able to respond to all submissions.
